 In Uncategorized, Update

An update (version 8.1.8) for Migration Manager will shortly be released and its contains a number of enhancements, bug fixes and new features.

What is in the Update: Change Log – Version 8.1.8

  • Accounts
    • Improved Invoice and Receipt merging speed. This update sees a significant increase in the speed of merging documents including all of the Accounts documents.
    • Modified the global Client to Office/Operating Accounts Transfer window to now only show invoices where there is a client account balance.
    • Export to Xero (Beta Users) – minor modifications to refine the export process and provide more detailed report results.
    • Fixed a bug that affected a small number of users performing an Accounts search where they were restricted to viewing only files created for their new office.
  • Client Detail Form
    • Documents Tab: Fixed an issue where if you changed the name of a file via the edit function it removed any spaces in the title.
    • Appeals Tab: Add a field to record the Topic/Subject matter of the appeal.
    • Progress Tab: Fixed a bug which caused some date formats to return an error.
  • Emails
    • Fixed a bug which affected some users that slowed the opening of the email capture window where the database contained a large number of clients.
    • Improvements have been made to how you can search for matters and assign emails. The search box can now search by more than just matter number.
  • File Notes
    • Improvement: If you send a file note to another user a message will now appear in their Document Inbox alerting them to review the note. The user does not need to be assigned to the note in order to be able to receive this message. File Notes marked as complete will be removed from all users Inboxes.
    • Fixed a bug that prevented you from closing the Quickparts window in certain circumstances.
    • Fixed a bug that stopped the Clear button from actually blanking off dates.
  • Forms & eVisa & VEVO
    • Subclass 400 and 485 have been added to the eVisa system.
    • Multiple eVisa field mapping updates. Note that our eVisa system is no longer updated as part of the main program update. Instead the eVisa system is updated silently in the background by the program on a near daily basis. If you have reported an issue with evisa field not filling out properly recently you should find that it has been updated and is working properly now. If not, please do let us know.
  • Portal. The rollout of the Portal is gathering pace and we are adding more and more users each week. At the moment the roll out is generally limited to people who have attended one of our seminars and been trained in how the Portal works.
    • General speed and usability improvements.
  • Program
    • This update includes speed improvement for the loading of the program. There will still be a minimum 7 second delay at the time of loading to give you the chance to read the splash screen (where we often put up useful information) but longer start times should now be a thing of the past.
    • User Preferences and User Permissions have now been separated. All users should now be able to edit their own User Preferences but the User Permissions will still be restricted to the Administrator access only.
  • Questionnaires
    • Fixed a bug which prevented the program from importing visits to other countries (only affected CIQ version 10.1.13)
  • Reports
    • Added additional report fields in the Nomination and Sponsorship category.
  • Task Inbox, Document Inbox
    • Document Inbox: A modification has been made to the search filter to align the search options to the same as the Snapshot time periods.
    • Document Inbox: Fixed a bug that caused an error if you tried to move or copy a document to another matter.
    • Snapshot: Fixed a bug that resulted in some users seeing more file notes as being due for review than there actually were.
    • Templates / Letters
      • Major speed improvement to the letter merge process. After this update you should see the speed of template letter merges significantly improve.
      • Add merge fields for Appeal topics/subject and court email addresses.
      • Fixed an issue that affected the creation of templates in Office 2016 that was creating doc instead of docx templates.
  • Various minor bug fixes

How to Perform the Update

When you are ready to perform the update, you should login as the Administrator and then click on the Help menu and then click Online Update.

When the update window opens click the ‘Start’ button and then follow any prompts. We do recommend that you do a full update and download the latest DIBP forms from Legendcom as DIBP has recently released a number of essential changes – this update includes new mappings for the recently released Form 80 and we will be releasing updates to address changes to the other forms in coming updates.

On one final point, if you have any problems performing the update please don’t hesitate to contact Migration Manager’s support team who are there to help you. You can log a support call through the Help button in Migration Manager or you can click the Support link in the menu bar at the top of this webpage.
