Migration Manager Software Update & Questionnaire Update

July is here and with it the Department of Immigration has rolled out a number of changes to their online application system. The development team at Migration Manager have already begun the hard work of analysing the application changes and preparing updates to the program and questionnaires (some of which will be released shortly).

When the Department makes changes to their online application system, the team at Migration Manager immediately sets about analysing the new pages and fields and making the changes necessary to restore MM’s eLodge functionality. So on Saturday, like Christmas in July, our development team jumped on to immiAccount the moment the changes were released to the public and commenced working through the large number of changes that have been made by the Department to immiAccount. Some of the changes that have been found are minor and will be relatively easy to fix, but others are wholesale in nature and will take longer as they will require changes to not just the elodge system but also to the pages in Migration Manager and the Questionnaires – however the entire development team has been put on this task so the aim will be to get updates released quickly. One hurdle we are finding is that the Department has yet again released a very buggy update and ImmiAccount has a bad habit of crashing. Hopefully, for everyone’s sake, the Department will get on top of these bugs soon.

The main focus of our development team at the moment is on fixing the navigation changes made to immiAccount that is affecting the eLodge system (as this has impacted on all visa types) as well as all of the Subclass 457 Sponsorship, Nomination and Visa application changes (if you are not aware, the Department has completely re-written all of the pages in their move to a new system). The priority after that will be based on demand from our users which will be determined by what visa type is receiving the highest number of bug/issue reports – at this stage the Temporary Activity visas will most likely be one of the early cabs off the rank to receive attention (thank you to everyone who has already submitted bug reports on these) as well as a major update to the Business Sponsor Questionnaire.

To help us know what immiAccount changes are impacting you, we strongly encourage you to please use the eLodge issue reporter for any page or field in immiAccount that you are currently finding is not filling out properly using eLodge. These reports will help us prioritise what is most important to most people. To let us know that you are experiencing an issue, please click the lady bug button on our eLodge tool which will send us details of the page you are having problems with.

Over the next few days and weeks we will be releasing a number of updates to address the changes made by the Department. Some you will see (such as program and questionnaire updates), others happen in the background (our eLodge field filling updates). This update (Program Version 8.4.1 & CIQ Version 10.5.0) contains the following:
